Masses in Honour of Saint Josemaría

26th June is the anniversary of the death of the Founder of Opus Dei in 1975. Public Masses will be celebrated in several places in Britain to mark the date.

Saint Josemaría was canonised in 2002 and his feast day is 26th June. Information about his life, and favours granted through his intercession, is online at www.josemariaescriva.info.

Principal Masses

To mark the occasion, Masses will be celebrated in London, Glasgow, Manchester and Oxford. Priests will be available for the Sacrament of Reconciliation half an hour before the beginning of each Mass.

Saturday 12 June 2010, 11am at the Church of St. Mary of the Assumption (present pro-Cathedral), 89 Abercromby Street, Calton, Glasgow G40 2DQ. Main celebrant: Most Rev Mario Conti, Archbishop of Glasgow.

Friday 25 June 2010, 8pm at the Church of the Holy Ghost, Nightingale Square, Balham, London. Main celebrant: Rev Mgr Nicholas Morrish. 

Saturday 26 June 2010, 12.10pm at the Salford Cathedral, Chapel Street, Salford, Manchester M3 5LL. Celebrant: Fr. Peter Haverty.

Saturday 26 June 2010, 11.30am at the Church of the Holy Family, 115 Limpsfield Road, Sanderstead, Surrey CR2 9LF. Main Celebrant: Rev Mgr Nicholas Morrish.

Saturday 26 June 2010: 11.30am at the Church of St Anthony of Padua, 115 Headley Way, Oxford OX3 7SS (near the John Radcliffe Hospital).

Saturday 26 June 2010: 6.30pm at the Church of St. Thomas More, Maresfield Gardens, Swiss Cottage, London NW3 5SU. Main Celebrant: Rt Rev John Arnold, Auxiliary Bishop of Westminster.
